Fastbreak AI has raised $40 million in Series A funding to expand its technology across professional leagues and the rapidly growing youth and amateur sports market. The round included Greycroft and GTMfund, along with participation from the NBA, NHL, and TMRW Sports. Additional investors included professional athletes such as PGA Tour golfers Patrick Cantlay and Kurt Kitayama, as well as former NFL players Larry Fitzgerald Jr. and Luke Kuechly, along with other venture capital and growth equity firms.

Based in Charlotte, Fastbreak AI provides sports operations and scheduling software that has become widely adopted by professional sports leagues. Its software computes league schedules designed to create balanced matchups, reduce travel, and support ticket sales and viewership. The company now powers scheduling for major organizations, including the NBA, NHL, AFL, Serie A, and MLS, as well as over 55 leagues globally. By improving how schedules are designed and administered, the platform enables leagues to utilize scheduling as a strategic tool to grow revenue, attract fans, and foster long-term engagement.

In addition to its professional league traction, Fastbreak AI has extended its offering to amateur and youth sports over the past year. The company has begun working with national governing bodies, such as USA Taekwondo, and youth sports programs, like Lightning Basketball. The expansion is driven by making the same AI scheduling capabilities that serve top professional leagues available to organizers who manage local tournaments and community sports operations.

The company’s amateur platform, Fastbreak Compete, serves as a broad operational system for sports organizers. It begins with schedule creation and also provides tools for registration, team travel coordination, ticketing, communication, and onsite event management. The aim is to help organizations operate more efficiently, reduce participant costs, and improve the experience for players and families.

How the funding will be used: Fastbreak AI plans to utilize the newly raised capital further to develop its products for both professional and amateur markets. The company is supported by a technical team that holds significant intellectual property in AI and optimization systems and is seeing growing adoption across multiple sports categories.
