FatPipe has appointed Kanishka Ragula as Chief Financial Officer as the networking and cybersecurity technology company pursues organic expansion while evaluating acquisitions and other strategic opportunities.
He most recently served as Director of Finance at FatPipe, giving him direct experience with the company’s financial operations, strategic planning, investor activities and growth initiatives before moving into the CFO position.
His earlier experience includes technology investment banking, mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance and capital markets.
Before joining FatPipe, Ragula worked in J.P. Morgan’s Technology Investment Banking group in San Francisco, where he participated in teams advising technology companies on M&A, equity financing, debt financing and other strategic transactions.
Among the transactions cited by FatPipe are Snow Software’s sale to Flexera, Francisco Partners’ $1.2 billion acquisition of Jama Software, HighLevel’s minority growth investment from General Atlantic and CData Software’s $350 million strategic growth investment from Warburg Pincus.
Ragula also worked on teams involved with StubHub’s IPO preparations, where J.P. Morgan served as lead left bookrunner, and PagerDuty’s $350 million convertible senior notes offering.
His broader transaction experience involved technology companies including OpenAI, LegalZoom, Jamf, McAfee, StubHub and Red Ventures.
That work gave Ragula experience spanning financial modeling, valuation, strategic and M&A analysis, due diligence, capital structure analysis and transaction execution.
FatPipe expects that background to be particularly relevant as it evaluates ways to expand its technology portfolio, recurring revenue and market presence.
The company develops software-defined wide area networking, cybersecurity and network management technologies for enterprises and service providers.
FatPipe pioneered technologies around SD-WAN and hybrid WAN environments that allow customers to control traffic across multiple network connections.
Its single-stack networking and cybersecurity platform is supported by 13 U.S. patents related to multipath and software-defined networking.
FatPipe distributes its products through more than 200 resellers worldwide.
Ragula also brings a combination of finance and computer science education.
He graduated summa cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania’s Jerome Fisher Program in Management & Technology.
He earned a Bachelor of Science in Economics with a concentration in Finance from the Wharton School and a Bachelor of Science in Engineering in Computer and Information Science from Penn Engineering.
At Penn, he served as President of the M&T Student Board and received the Naren Udayagiri Management and Technology Award.
The appointment gives FatPipe a CFO whose background combines internal operating familiarity with external investment banking and technology transaction experience.
Eric Sherb will continue advising FatPipe in a consulting capacity to support the leadership transition.
