Feeders Pet Supply has announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Pet Food Centers, an Evansville, Indiana-based company, further accelerating its growth and regional expansion strategy. The acquisition includes four Pet Food Centers stores in the Evansville area and one in Clarksville, Tennessee.
The addition of these stores strengthens Feeders Pet Supply’s geographic presence in Indiana and Tennessee, aligning with its long-term goal to build one of the nation’s most trusted specialty pet retail networks. The transaction also marks Feeders Pet Supply’s sixth acquisition in the past nine years, following Chow Hound Pet Supplies, IncrediPet Store, Phydeaux, Ashland Pet, and Soldan’s Pet Supplies.
Founded in 1959 and headquartered in Louisville, Kentucky, Feeders Pet Supply is among the top 25 pet retailers in North America. The company was named Pet Product News Retailer of the Year for Growth and Expansion in 2023. Through its stores and digital platforms, Feeders Pet Supply offers nearly 10,000 pet products, including food, toys, and supplies, along with same-day local delivery, free in-store pickup, and a robust loyalty rewards program.
Pet Food Centers has been a family-owned and operated business for 35 years, building a strong reputation for quality service and exceptional customer care. As part of the transition, all full-time associates from Pet Food Centers will become employee-owners through Feeders Pet Supply’s parent company, Houchens Industries, the second-largest employee stock ownership plan (ESOP) in the United States.
