FemHealth Ventures has closed its second venture fund at $65 million, an oversubscribed raise that more than doubles the size of the firm’s inaugural fund and brings assets under management to $100 million across two funds. The women’s health-focused venture capital firm said Fund II drew significant backing from existing limited partners and new investors aligned with its mission to advance women’s health innovation alongside financial performance.
The firm said its first fund, launched in 2021, is recognized as a top-decile performer across DPI and IRR in the Carta and PitchBook databases, and that the new raise is a signal of continued momentum in women’s health investing. FemHealth Ventures said the close of Fund II further solidifies its position as a category-defining investor in the sector.
FemHealth Ventures also highlighted its role in developing what it describes as a three-category framework for women’s health, defining the space as conditions that appear only in women, mostly in women, or differently in women. The firm said this framework was introduced in 2019 as part of the FemHealth Framework and is now widely used across the sector to guide research, strategy, and investment.
Fund II will continue investing across drugs, devices, diagnostics, and digital and AI-enabled technologies to address unmet needs in women’s health, with a stated focus on partnering with founders building solutions that materially improve outcomes.
