Field officially launched as a wealth management technology company focused on building foundational infrastructure for the advisory industry. The company is led by Bill Crager, the co-founder and former CEO of Envestnet and a founding partner of iAltA.
Field’s platform is designed to translate, understand, and act on data generated by advisory firms across multiple disconnected systems. The company said the advisory industry has spent decades digitizing individual workflows such as portfolio management, financial planning, CRM, compliance, and billing, but those systems were not originally designed to operate together seamlessly.
According to the company, advisors have increasingly become the integration point across fragmented platforms while also managing client expectations for more holistic advice and service.
Field said its platform creates a foundational layer underneath those systems by integrating and translating data into a shared framework that can generate firm-level intelligence and operational insights. The company added that its recently acquired AI integration technology further enhances automation, coordination, and insight generation across systems.
The company’s launch is supported by two acquisitions completed through iAltA. One acquisition was BridgeFT, a wealthtech API platform that provides multi-custodian data connectivity, normalization, and delivery services to developers and financial institutions. The second acquisition involved Precept, whose technology connects data across custodians, CRMs, planning tools, and alternative investment platforms.
iAltA was founded by Scott Ganeles, Laurence Tosi, and Bill Sherman. Tosi also founded iLEVEL.
Field stated that its long-term vision is to provide advisory firms with a unified operational foundation that improves coordination across wealth management ecosystems and enables firms to scale more effectively.
KEY QUOTES:
“I spent my career watching this problem grow. The tools got better every year. But the ground beneath them still hasn’t been properly built. Field exists to be that ground.”
Bill Crager, Co-founder And Former CEO, Envestnet; Founding Partner, iAltA
“The advisor has been the one holding it all together, manually, every day. Field puts the picture in one place. The firm sees itself whole. That changes what the advisor can do, what the firm is worth, and how it grows.”
“We’ve seen this pattern before, across communications, the internet, and wealth management itself. When ecosystems mature, the next phase of innovation is about coordination. Field is our answer to that moment in wealth management.”
