Filevine has acquired Pincites, an AI-powered contract drafting and redlining tool built natively for Microsoft Word, as the legal software company expands its AI-Powered Legal Operating Intelligence System (LOIS) into document creation and negotiation workflows.
The deal brings the full Pincites team into Filevine, with Filevine saying the combined organization will develop litigation-specific drafting technology while continuing to invest in redlining capabilities geared toward transactional legal teams. Filevine said Pincites selected it following a competitive process that included bids from multiple legal AI companies.
Pincites is designed to review and rewrite contract clauses inside Microsoft Word using established standards, negotiation playbooks, and market benchmarks. Filevine said the product learns from user edits, flags risk, and accelerates the review and negotiation of complex agreements. Through integration with LOIS, Filevine said customers will be able to treat depositions, contracts, and related legal tasks as connected components within a unified platform.
Filevine plans to position the product as “LOIS for Word,” aiming to provide Word-native drafting and redlining for legal professionals. The company said litigators will be able to draft, edit, and revise briefs directly in Microsoft Word while maintaining connectivity to underlying case data.
The Pincites acquisition follows Filevine’s May 2025 purchase of Parrot, which the company has since rebranded as Depositions by Filevine, including virtual deposition capabilities and an AI-powered medical records chronology product (MedChron). Filevine said the December 2025 Pincites deal builds on that momentum as it works toward an end-to-end litigation platform.
Filevine also highlighted broader business traction, stating that its LegalAI corporate category grew 120% in 2025, with some customers signing multi-year, multi-million-dollar agreements. The company said its customer base includes enterprises, nonprofits, sports organizations, and insurers using Filevine for claims management, depositions, risk operations, and in-house legal support. Filevine cited a 2025 $400 million all-equity raise as strengthening its capacity to fund product development, security, and additional acquisitions.
