Finnegan announced that Jin Ooi has joined the firm’s London office as a partner, enhancing its global intellectual property litigation capabilities across key markets.
Ooi focuses on patent litigation and disputes in the life sciences sector, with particular expertise in pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, and medical devices. His practice also covers consumer products and high-tech industries, and he has extensive experience handling complex, high-stakes disputes involving parallel proceedings across the UK, Europe, and other major jurisdictions.
Recognized by Legal 500 as a “Next Generation Partner,” Ooi has developed a reputation for combining technical expertise with commercially focused legal advice. In addition to traditional life sciences patent disputes, his practice includes standard essential patent (SEP) matters involving FRAND issues, as well as contractual and regulatory disputes affecting life sciences companies.
Ooi also advises clients on life sciences regulatory matters and supports transactions, including mergers and acquisitions in regulated industries.
With more than 250 litigators, Finnegan represents clients in courts throughout the United States, Germany, the UK, and the Unified Patent Court (UPC), providing coordinated representation for multi-jurisdictional disputes.
