Firefly Aerospace’s 659% year-over-year revenue growth was one of the more dramatic figures in its second-quarter results, but the expanding collection of government and commercial contracts may be the more significant long-term development.

Q2 revenue reached a record $117.7 million, representing a 45.5% sequential increase and a 659% increase from the prior-year quarter. Firefly also secured more than half a dozen contract wins during the quarter across its rocket, spacecraft and software operations.

Among the largest awards was a $144 million NASA Commercial Lunar Payload Services contract for another Blue Ghost mission. The award brought Firefly’s lunar portfolio to six contracted missions. Firefly also received a $75 million subcontract for NASA’s MoonFall mission, which will use an Elytra spacecraft to deliver four drones to the Moon’s south pole.

Additional wins included a $94 million Space Force contract, Firefly’s first Mars mission through a $13 million NASA JPL subcontract, a second hypersonic Alpha task order and an extension of its Lockheed Martin agreement covering up to 25 Alpha launches through 2031. Firefly also joined a $981 million Space Force IDIQ contract under which it can compete for future task orders.

KEY QUOTES:
