Firehawk Defense has raised more than $150 million in an upsized and oversubscribed Series D financing at a valuation exceeding $1.4 billion as the defense technology company expands U.S. propulsion and energetics manufacturing.
The round was led by Advent and Rochefort Asset Management, with additional participation from new and existing investors and strategic partners.
Firehawk plans to use the capital to expand its patented propulsion manufacturing platform, including its production facility in Lawton, Oklahoma, and missile integration facility in Crawford, Mississippi. The financing will also support additional research and development sites, increased headcount, and higher production of artillery motors, solid rocket motors, energetics, and propellant.
Firehawk has developed a thermoplastic propellant manufacturing process intended to replace traditional batch mixing, casting, and curing methods that can take weeks. Its process can produce energetic feedstock in hours, after which the material can be stored or formed into application-specific propellant grains through compression molding, extrusion, or 3D printing.
The company expects to become the largest U.S. producer of artillery motors and the third-largest domestic producer of propellant by the end of 2027.
Firehawk has also been expanding its work with major defense contractors. General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems entered a teaming agreement with Firehawk in May 2026 to accelerate development and production of 155mm base bleed motors for extended-range applications.
In August, Firehawk conducted a live-fire test of Hydra-70 rockets manufactured at its Mississippi facility and reported a 100% success rate at Yuma Proving Ground.
The Series D follows Firehawk’s $60 million Series C in September 2025 and an additional strategic investment completed in November 2025.
