Firmus Technologies, an Asia-based AI infrastructure company, announced it has raised $505 million in a strategic equity investment led by Coatue, with participation from Nvidia, to accelerate the rollout of its AI Factory platform across the Asia-Pacific region. The announcement, detailed in the company’s official release, underscores growing investor demand for large-scale AI infrastructure as global compute needs continue to rise.
The funding will support the deployment of Firmus’ AI infrastructure platform, which is based on Nvidia’s Vera Rubin DSX reference design. The company said the capital will enable expansion of its “AI Factory” model, including the delivery of Project Southgate in Australia and additional AI factory deployments across Asia-Pacific markets.
Firmus is positioning its infrastructure as energy-efficient and scalable, targeting demand from hyperscale cloud providers, enterprises, and sovereign customers. Its vertically integrated approach, built largely within Australia, is designed to reduce deployment timelines and operating costs while strengthening the region’s ability to export AI compute capacity globally.
Project Southgate, the company’s flagship initiative, aims to establish a national network of energy-efficient AI factories across Australia. Firmus said the platform has been co-designed with global technology partners and is intended to support next-generation accelerated computing workloads.
The company added that the latest financing is expected to bring its total equity raised over the past six months to about $1.35 billion, implying a post-money valuation of approximately $5.5 billion, subject to closing conditions.
