Fleetsmith, a San Francisco-based company that puts Apple device management and security on auto-pilot, has plans to further develop its device management platform and grow its presence internationally following a recent round of funding.
The recent $30 million Series B funding round was led by Menlo Ventures. Tiger Global Management, Upfront Ventures, and Harrison Metal also participated in this round. In conjunction with the funding, Menlo Venture partner and former product/growth lead at Evernote Naomi Pilosof Ionita is joining Fleetsmith’s board as an observer. Including this round, Fleetsmith has raised more than $40 million.
“This latest round of funding demonstrates continued confidence in our strategy, which has helped companies automate device management and put security first,” said Fleetsmith co-founder and CEO Zack Blum. “Over the past year, we have built an incredible team and shipped tons of new customer-requested features. Now, we look forward to growing the company so we can bring modern device management to even more organizations around the world.”
Fleetsmith has built a new onboarding platform that anticipates common IT workflows such as adding a new device and allowing IT admins to move through the setup, deployment, and management processes. The admin console includes tips and guides on how to leverage intelligence insights and configuration options. And Fleetsmith’s new pagination feature controls allow for quick navigation of large sets of devices and bulk assignment of devices to profiles.
And Fleetsmith is also announcing the upcoming launch of a new admin console — which is going to be released in the next few months. The new console includes an updated user interface with more advanced dashboard visualizations and better performance. The new dashboard enables admins to take action quickly and fix issues that are surfaced by Fleetsmith Intelligence with a single click.
“We were immediately impressed by Fleetsmith’s customer and product-centric mentality,” added Ionita. “They are solving real pain points around device management and their product empowers IT, management, and security teams. Customers recognize the value of Fleetsmith in minutes—not weeks or months. It’s the way a modern product built for IT should work.”
After raising a Series A round around the same time last year, Fleetsmith launched the general availability of the device monitoring product called Fleetsmith Intelligence, new Dashboard and Audit Log product features, support for businesses using Office 365/iOS/tvOS, and a reseller program called the Fleetsmith Partner Program.
In the past year, Fleetsmith also expanded its engineering, product, design, sales, and marketing teams. And the company’s headcount doubled do nearly 30 employees. Plus Fleetsmith hired former Google and PandaDoc marketing exec Dan Levinschi as Vice President of Marketing.
“We’re delighted to have Dan join our team at this pivotal stage,” Blum commented. “With his proven ability to drive business results and build high-performing teams in both domestic and international markets, Dan will be instrumental in growing Fleetsmith’s brand awareness and accelerating customer adoption.”
Fleetsmith is also going to use the funding to more than triple employee count and expand its operations in Europe.
