FleetWorks: $17 Million Closed To Launch AI-Based ‘Always-On’ Dispatcher Transforming U.S. Trucking Industry

FleetWorks, an AI-driven logistics technology company, has launched its always-on dispatcher platform for the U.S. trucking industry after raising $17 million in funding. First Round Capital led the round with participation from Y Combinator, Saga Ventures, and LFX Venture Partners. The investment will accelerate hiring, commercial expansion, and product development as FleetWorks seeks to modernize one of America’s most essential yet inefficient industries.

Every day, more than 200,000 truckloads are coordinated by freight brokers across the United States, yet nearly 80% of these transactions are still handled manually through phone calls, emails, and text messages. This outdated system leaves brokers overwhelmed and carriers overworked—spending countless hours chasing loads instead of driving. For small trucking businesses, which make up 96% of the industry and often operate fewer than ten trucks, the inefficiency has become a significant barrier to growth.

Recognizing the problem firsthand, the FleetWorks founders set out to build technology that could streamline communication between brokers and carriers while ensuring reliability and transparency. Drawing from experience at Uber Freight, the team designed AI-powered voice agents capable of managing relationships, negotiating loads, and automating repetitive back-and-forth tasks that traditionally consume hundreds of hours each week.

FleetWorks’ platform connects brokers and carriers through two complementary AI products. The first, an always-on dispatcher, serves carriers directly. It communicates via phone, text, and email to understand each carrier’s equipment, lane preferences, and availability in real time. When a suitable load becomes available, the dispatcher immediately alerts the carrier—reducing wait times and eliminating missed opportunities.

The second, an always-on carrier representative, operates on behalf of brokers. Integrated with transportation management systems (TMS), it evaluates shipment details, pricing ranges, and route requirements, automatically matching loads to the right carriers. Together, these tools compress thousands of manual interactions into seamless digital workflows while maintaining rigorous standards of trust and security.

Since launching less than six months ago, FleetWorks has already onboarded over 10,000 carriers and formed partnerships with more than 15 of the top 100 U.S. freight brokers, including Ally Logistics, Sage Freight, and KCH Transportation. This early adoption underscores the company’s growing role as a bridge between small carriers seeking consistent loads and brokers struggling to keep pace with demand.

FleetWorks’ AI system also incorporates deep vetting protocols to ensure reliability. Every broker in the network maintains strong credit and a proven history of timely payments, while every carrier undergoes screening customized to specific loads, shippers, and routes. By blending automation with accountability, the company aims to rebuild efficiency and trust across the logistics ecosystem.

With the funding, FleetWorks plans to expand its team across technology, go-to-market, and operations. The company is also opening its platform to additional carriers and brokers interested in transforming how freight is booked, managed, and delivered.
