Flex Completes EPC Power Acquisition To Expand AI Data Center And Grid Power Capabilities

Flex has completed its acquisition of EPC Power, expanding its power-conversion capabilities for AI data centers and grid applications.

EPC Power will become part of Flex’s Cloud and Power Infrastructure segment. The acquisition adds power conversion and grid-forming technologies to Flex’s existing capabilities across power, cooling, and compute as demand grows for higher-density AI infrastructure and next-generation data center architectures.

EPC Power develops intelligent power conversion solutions that combine proprietary hardware, software, and controls with U.S.-based engineering and manufacturing. The company has deployed more than 15 GW of technology across applications including grid stabilization and backup power.

The company’s platform is also engineered to support next-generation 800V data center power architectures. These higher-voltage architectures are becoming increasingly important as AI workloads drive greater power density and place additional demands on data center electrical infrastructure.

By adding EPC Power, Flex plans to provide customers with more integrated solutions spanning power conversion, cooling systems, and compute infrastructure. The combination is intended to help data center operators manage rising power requirements while improving efficiency and resilience.

The acquisition also comes as Flex prepares a broader restructuring of its Cloud and Power Infrastructure operations. The company plans to separate the segment into an independent publicly traded company called Axiom Solutions International, Inc. during the first calendar quarter of 2027.

Flex operates across 30 countries and provides manufacturing, supply chain, product development, and lifecycle services. The company has been expanding its focus on AI infrastructure as customers seek solutions for increasingly complex power, heat, and deployment requirements.
