Foley & Lardner has added life sciences transactional lawyer Jane Adams as a partner in its Technology Transactions, Cybersecurity & Privacy Practice in San Diego, marking the firm’s sixth California partner addition during 2026.
Adams also represents Foley’s fourth partner addition this year within its Intellectual Property Department.
She joins after spending approximately three decades at Cooley advising public and private life sciences companies on commercial and corporate transactions.
Adams’ practice includes strategic alliances, research and development collaborations, technology licensing and acquisitions, supply and manufacturing agreements, distribution arrangements, profit-sharing and co-promotion structures, M&A and corporate finance.
Her clients have included biotechnology, pharmaceutical, vaccine, medical technology and diagnostics companies as well as academic research institutions and nonprofit organizations involved in pharmaceutical research.
Foley expects Adams to strengthen the intersection of its life sciences, intellectual property and technology transactions practices.
Her arrival also extends a broader California recruiting push.
Foley added partners Matt Browne, Peter Stockburger, Darby Chan and Sanj Dutta in February and Travis Jang-Busby in May.
Since spring 2025, Foley has added 12 partners across California.
