Folly: Follow-On Funding Led By Khosla Ventures Fuels Launch Of Pill-Strength Hair Health Gummy

Folly announced the global launch of its new hair health gummy, positioning it as the first product to deliver pill-level ingredient strength in a gummy format. The company also revealed a follow-on investment led by Khosla Ventures to support commercialization and expansion into additional wellness categories.

The product is designed to address what the company describes as a longstanding issue in the supplement industry, inconsistent dosing and poor adherence. Traditional gummies often contain ingredients at levels too low to be effective, while pill-based regimens can be difficult for consumers to follow consistently, especially when multiple large capsules are required daily.

Folly’s gummy contains more than 30 clinically studied ingredients and delivers significantly higher dosages than typical hair supplements. The company attributes this capability to its proprietary microencapsulation system, Folly Microspheres, developed by its parent company Genecis Bio. This system is designed to protect active ingredients during manufacturing and digestion, allowing higher concentrations to be delivered without compromising taste or usability.

According to the company, this approach applies pharmaceutical-grade delivery science to the supplement category, aiming to ensure nutrients reach hair follicles effectively rather than degrading before absorption.

In a 300-person consumer perception study, users who took the product daily for at least 30 days reported measurable improvements. The company states that 84% saw improved hair health, 81% noticed fuller-looking hair, and 79% experienced reduced shedding within that timeframe.

Folly launched in April 2026 in the United States and the United Kingdom, with plans to expand across Europe and Asia throughout the year.

KEY QUOTE:

“Folly was built to solve the supplement industry’s delivery crisis: ensuring that clinically studied nutrients actually reach your follicles, not your stomach lining. I spent years working in pharmaceutical delivery science before realizing the supplement industry had never fully applied these principles. The same approaches that protect active ingredients in drug delivery can protect nutrients in a gummy. That is what Folly Microspheres do.”
