Ford reported U.S. third-quarter 2026 sales of 509,764 vehicles, down 6.6% year over year, as the automaker continued the planned phase-out of the Ford Escape and Lincoln Corsair.
After accounting for the planned discontinuation of those vehicles, Ford said total sales volume was essentially unchanged from the prior-year period, while the overall industry declined about 1%.
Ford estimates its retail market share, excluding the Escape and Corsair, increased about 0.4 percentage points from a year earlier to 12.1%.
The company sold 1,516,279 vehicles during the first nine months of 2026.

September F-Series sales increased 2.4% to 67,448 trucks, keeping the nameplate on track for a 50th consecutive year as America’s best-selling truck.
Ford also increased F-Series production by 4.5% during the third quarter to 266,777 trucks.
Super Duty production reached 110,275 trucks, increasing 4.4% and producing its strongest quarterly manufacturing result in 19 years.
Ford disclosed that a short-term supplier issue unrelated to aluminum affected F-150 production late in September. The automaker expects the financial impact to remain containable within its existing full-year 2026 adjusted EBIT guidance of $10 billion to $11 billion.
The Maverick Hybrid recorded third-quarter sales of 27,793 vehicles, increasing 59.6% to a quarterly record. Maverick Hybrid year-to-date sales also hit a record 74,300 vehicles.

Explorer sales increased 17.6% to 189,210 vehicles through September. Combined Explorer and Expedition sales reached 249,481 three-row SUVs.
Ford’s off-road performance lineup, including Bronco, Raptor, Tremor, and FX4 models and packages, accounted for 24% of company sales through September.
Sales in that group totaled 364,141 trucks and SUVs through September, up 8.4% year over year. Third-quarter sales increased 12.2% to 123,507.
Ford also reported continued growth in its software and services businesses. Active paid software subscriptions surpassed 1.7 million through September, up more than 40% from the prior year.
