Fortegra Appoints Iwan Röpcke As Chief Executive Officer Of Belgium Operations

Fortegra Group, a global specialty insurer, has appointed Iwan Röpcke as Chief Executive Officer of its Belgium operations. Röpcke brings more than 25 years of insurance industry experience spanning broking, commercial leadership, and executive management across the Benelux and broader European markets.

Röpcke joins Fortegra from Lloyd’s Insurance Company S.A., where he served as Country Manager for Belgium and the Netherlands, building out the operation from its early stages and overseeing both business strategy and development. Prior to Lloyd’s, he held senior leadership positions at Willis Towers Watson via Gras Savoye, where he served as Head of Sales and Head of the Competence Center. His career also includes roles at Inter Partner Assistance as Commercial Director Benelux, as well as positions at Winterthur Europe Assurances, AIG Europe, Aon Belgium, and Marsh.

Röpcke holds multiple degrees including an MBA from the Vlerick School at the University of Ghent and is fluent in Dutch, French, and English. His industry expertise spans a range of specialty risk areas with deep relationships across the European broker and insurer community. Fortegra has operated for more than 45 years, offering admitted and excess and surplus lines insurance products and warranty solutions through subsidiaries that hold an A.M. Best Financial Strength Rating of A- (Excellent).

The appointment strengthens Fortegra’s leadership across its European platform, which includes regulated insurance entities in Belgium, Malta, and the United Kingdom. Fortegra Belgium Insurance Company NV is authorized and regulated by the National Bank of Belgium.
