Forus has raised $150 million in Series C financing at a $3 billion valuation, tripling its valuation just months after its Series B and bringing total funding to more than $300 million. The round was led by Bain Capital Ventures, which has invested in Forus since its seed round. Every existing institutional investor also participated, including Thrive Capital, General Catalyst, Accel, Redpoint, BoxGroup, Pear VC, Vast Ventures and SV Angel.
Forus is building an AI network that connects doctors, pharmacies, payers and biopharma companies to help patients access medicines more quickly.
The company said its platform is now used by providers across all 50 U.S. states to treat patients in 85% of U.S. residential ZIP codes.
More than one-third of providers in the company’s first launched specialty have adopted the platform, while double-digit percentages of providers across several other specialties are also using it.
Forus plans to use the new funding to expand across additional specialties and care settings, extend the capabilities of its AI agents across the treatment process and increase investment in its team.
The company’s system gives each prescription its own AI agent. These agents are embedded directly into provider workflows and manage processes between a clinical decision and the start of treatment, including insurance approvals, financial assistance and supply chain coordination.
Forus said the system is designed to reason through a patient’s medical history, insurance coverage and financial circumstances to determine the next required steps.
The platform is free to providers and patients.
Forus is targeting a major inefficiency in specialty and complex medicine, where patients can face weeks or months of delays between receiving a prescription and beginning treatment.
The company said one in three people prescribed medication for a high-cost or complex condition never receives a first dose.
Its AI agents are designed to reduce administrative friction for clinical practices and make the path to treatment more predictable.
Forus also uses the data generated across prescription workflows to identify where providers encounter delays, where patients drop out of treatment pathways and how medicines perform in real-world settings.
Biopharma companies use the platform to support research, commercialization and the launch of new medicines.
Forus is currently working with 9 of the top 15 global biopharma companies, along with multiple growing biotechnology companies.
The company plans to expand its AI network across the broader biopharma lifecycle, from clinical development and launch preparation through patient access.
