Freedom Mortgage Corporation announced that its indirect parent company, Freedom Superior LLC, has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Seneca Mortgage Servicing LLC and related entities from EJF Capital LP. Seneca operates as an asset manager of mortgage servicing rights (MSRs) and services the underlying mortgage loans tied to those assets.

The transaction is designed to combine Seneca’s servicing platform and experienced team with Freedom Mortgage’s established mortgage servicing operations. Freedom Mortgage said the acquisition will strengthen its capabilities in managing MSRs while improving operational efficiency across the combined platform.

Following the closing of the deal, Freedom plans to leverage Seneca’s infrastructure to expand its servicing business and create new investment opportunities. The company also intends to enhance the Seneca platform to attract outside investors interested in high-quality mortgage loan assets.

The acquisition remains subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory approvals.

Piper Sandler & Co served as financial advisor to EJF Capital on the transaction.

Freedom Mortgage, founded in 1990 and headquartered in Boca Raton, Florida, is one of the largest independent mortgage lenders and servicers in the United States. The company operates across retail, wholesale, and correspondent channels and is licensed nationwide.

EJF Capital, founded in 2005 and headquartered near Washington, D.C., is a global alternative asset manager with approximately $5.4 billion in assets under management as of the end of 2025.
