Freeman Mathis & Gary (FMG Law) has expanded its Midwest presence by adding the attorneys and staff of Franke Schultz & Mullen (FSM), a Missouri- and Kansas-based civil litigation firm. The move adds three new FMG Law offices in Kansas City, St. Louis, and Springfield, Missouri, while strengthening the firm’s litigation capabilities across the region. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
The combination brings 28 attorneys and 20 staff members from FSM to FMG Law, expanding the firm’s trial bench and reinforcing its ability to handle complex litigation matters throughout Missouri, Kansas, southern Illinois, and the broader Midwest. The additional offices also complement FMG Law’s existing Chicago presence and broaden its regional reach.
Founded more than 30 years ago, FSM has established a strong reputation in civil litigation with particular expertise in tort and catastrophic liability, products liability, professional liability, directors and officers (D&O) liability, employment matters, and insurance coverage and bad faith litigation. The firm represents a diverse client base that includes insurance companies, corporations, municipalities, and professional service providers.
The expansion supports FMG Law’s ongoing national growth strategy as it continues investing in key litigation markets. The Am Law 200 firm now has more than 575 attorneys across 40 offices in 22 states, providing legal services to insurers, corporations, and institutions in complex litigation matters throughout the United States.
FMG Law said the addition enhances its ability to serve clients with expanded trial resources, deeper regional experience, and increased accessibility throughout the Midwest while providing FSM’s existing clients with access to a broader national platform.
