Freshworks has acquired Robusta Dev Ltd., an AI-powered incident intelligence company that helps technology teams investigate disruptions, identify root causes, and recommend remediation steps.
The acquisition expands Freshworks’ incident management and IT operations capabilities within Freshservice while strengthening connections with incident orchestration platforms such as FireHydrant.
Robusta is designed to automate the investigative work that follows technology disruptions. Its platform continuously monitors production environments, evaluates infrastructure telemetry, recent code changes, configuration updates, and monitoring data, and uses AI agents to determine the likely cause and scope of an incident.
The platform follows a “sense, reason, act” model.
When an anomaly occurs, Robusta’s AI agents investigate the relevant signals and operational data. The system then identifies the root cause, maps the potential impact across dependent services, and presents evidence supporting its conclusions. It can also recommend remediation actions within customer-defined guardrails, allowing engineers to review and approve proposed changes before they affect production systems.
Freshworks plans to integrate these capabilities into Freshservice so incident investigations can incorporate business service context, configuration management database dependencies, and change histories.
The company also plans to connect Robusta’s diagnostic output with FireHydrant workflows, including incident timelines and Slack or Microsoft Teams command channels.
The broader strategy is to create a continuous incident management lifecycle spanning telemetry analysis, diagnosis, response orchestration, and prevention.
Freshworks said the combined platform could help reduce alert fatigue by consolidating large numbers of related alerts into a single investigated incident. AI-generated root-cause analyses and suggested runbooks could also help reduce the time required to assemble response teams and resolve outages.
Robusta has been optimized for large-scale production environments where high alert volumes can make automated AI investigation costly or impractical.
Freshworks said Robusta’s technology is designed to make AI-agent investigation feasible across these environments while maintaining human oversight over actions that could affect production systems.
The acquisition also gives Freshworks technology intended to support post-incident prevention. Findings from disruptions can feed into retrospectives, change-management guardrails, and automated checks designed to prevent similar incidents from recurring.
Freshworks plans to integrate Robusta’s capabilities further into Freshservice while deepening interoperability with FireHydrant and other incident response workflows.
Robusta co-founders Natan Yellin and Arik Alon and the broader Robusta team will join Freshworks.
KEY QUOTES:
“LLMs are fantastic at troubleshooting incidents. Our technology lets AI Agents do that effectively in large enterprise environments, where there are so many raw events that investigating each one individually would be exorbitant from a token cost perspective. We’re incredibly excited to join Freshworks, which gives us the scale and platform to bring that experience to engineering teams everywhere, while keeping humans firmly in control of decisions that touch production.”
Natan Yellin, Co-Founder And CEO Of Robusta
