Concentric Equity Partners and Summer Street Capital Partners have announced the exit of Frontier Waste Solutions through a sale to GFL Environmental. Frontier Waste Solutions, a Dallas-based solid waste and recycling company, was sold following a period of significant growth under the ownership of Concentric and Summer Street. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
During the investment period, Frontier expanded both organically and through acquisitions, building a vertically integrated waste services platform across Texas. The company now serves more than 460,000 customers across major population centers, including Dallas-Fort Worth, Austin, San Antonio, Houston, and surrounding regions, operating a fleet of 665 vehicles across 24 locations.
The company provides services spanning residential, commercial, municipal, and industrial waste collection, as well as recycling, dumpster rentals, and roll-off services. Its footprint across Texas positioned it to benefit from the region’s strong population and economic growth.
Following the transaction, Frontier will become part of GFL Environmental, enhancing GFL’s presence in Texas and expanding its collection and post-collection capabilities in high-growth markets. Frontier’s founder and CEO John Gustafson, along with the existing management team, will remain with the business post-closing to continue operations and support future growth initiatives.
The deal was supported by Brown Gibbons Lang & Company as lead transaction advisor, Alvarez & Marsal as financial advisor, and A&O Shearman as legal counsel.
