FS Vector has expanded its APPROVED regulatory technology platform with a new Exam Management module designed to help financial services companies prepare for regulatory examinations, manage information requests and track remediation within the same system they use for licensing and ongoing compliance.
The Washington-based financial services consulting firm said the product is the first exam management technology built specifically for financial services and the only platform combining licensing and exam management within a single integrated workflow.
APPROVED is the technology platform behind FS Vector’s licensing practice. Companies use it to pursue state licenses and federal authorities, maintain regulatory filings and renewals, manage bank partnership and change-of-control requirements and retain the records associated with those obligations.
The new Exam Management module extends the platform into the regulatory processes that occur after a company receives its licenses.
Financial services companies operating across multiple states and regulatory jurisdictions can face examinations that require large volumes of documentation under overlapping deadlines. FS Vector’s new module provides legal and compliance teams with a centralized location for documents, examiner requests and responses across state and federal regulatory exams, internal audits, independent reviews, investigations and investor reviews.
Companies already using APPROVED can draw on licensing information and documents already stored in the platform rather than reconstructing the same records each time a new examination begins.
A major feature is examination forecasting.
The system is designed to help financial institutions anticipate when examinations and internal audits are likely to occur, allowing compliance teams to plan budgets and allocate personnel before receiving formal notice.
APPROVED can also automate intake of regulatory and internal information requests, generate deadline alerts, assign tasks to specific business units and allow teams to monitor completion through a shared workspace.
FS Vector said these capabilities are intended to reduce dependence on email and manual coordination during regulatory examinations.
The company sees that administrative burden as an increasingly significant problem for fintech companies, banks and other regulated financial institutions.
Compliance teams can be responsible for gathering information from multiple departments, tracking which employees own particular requests, responding to regulators and maintaining evidence that commitments have been completed.
Centralizing those activities creates a more consistent record of the examination while giving teams greater visibility into outstanding work.
The module also continues managing the process after an examination is completed.
Companies can track corrective action plans through completion and retain evidence demonstrating that identified issues were addressed.
Real-time reporting provides executives and boards with visibility into remediation progress. API integrations can also send findings, corrective actions and closure evidence into existing compliance management and governance, risk and compliance systems.
That makes Exam Management part of a broader effort by FS Vector to create a continuous compliance workflow extending from initial licensing through regulatory examinations and remediation.
The launch builds on FS Vector’s Examinations service, which debuted in September 2025.
Through that offering, the firm’s professionals help licensed financial services companies assess their readiness for examinations, coordinate communications with examiners, provide onsite examination support and address regulatory findings.
APPROVED serves as the technology layer supporting those advisory services.
FS Vector said exam management had long been part of its roadmap for APPROVED, but the firm evaluated how its technology could complement the evolving State Examination System and other existing regulatory tools before introducing the new module.
The result is a platform intended to connect licensing information, examination preparation, regulatory requests and remediation instead of forcing compliance teams to manage each process through separate tools.
FS Vector works with hundreds of organizations across the financial services ecosystem, including fintech companies, banks, other financial institutions, law firms and regulatory technology providers.
Its broader business combines strategic advisory services, technology-enabled operational support, government relations and policy expertise.
The new Exam Management module extends that combination of technology and regulatory expertise into another stage of the financial services compliance lifecycle.
By connecting licensing records with exam forecasting, request management and remediation tracking, FS Vector is aiming to help companies shift from preparing for examinations after they arrive toward maintaining a more continuous state of regulatory readiness.
KEY QUOTES:
“Financial services companies are managing increasingly complex regulatory demands, yet most still rely on fragmented tools and manual processes. This new technology fills that critical gap in the market. By bringing the entire lifecycle into a single platform, we’re giving clients the central source of truth and forecasting capabilities they need to move from reactive exam preparation to proactive, seamless compliance.”
Kristie Battershell, Principal and Examinations Lead at FS Vector
“Exam management has long been part of our vision for APPROVED as a complete solution for licensing and ongoing compliance. As the State Examination System evolved, we took the time to assess where APPROVED could add the most value for clients and how to best complement the tools already available.”
