Fumex Air Filtration Systems acquired PAT Technology Systems, the Montreal-based company behind the Filtrabox brand, expanding its portfolio of fume extraction and air filtration products.
Fumex is a portfolio company of Vance Street Capital.
PAT Technology Systems designs and manufactures engineered purification solutions that protect people, equipment, and the environment from airborne pollutants.
Its Filtrabox brand specializes in compact, modular fume extractors for laser marking, engraving, and printing applications.
Founded in 1986 and headquartered in Kennesaw, Georgia, Fumex develops extraction systems designed to capture hazardous particulates and chemical fumes directly at their source.
The company’s systems are used across laser processing, welding, 3D printing, soldering, plastic processing, medical device manufacturing, and plasma and corona treatment.
Fumex said the two businesses have complementary product portfolios.
Fumex brings expertise in engineered source-capture systems, dust control, and filtration for industrial processes, while Filtrabox provides compact modular equipment designed for simplified field servicing and reduced downtime.
The combination will broaden the companies’ capabilities across welding and fabrication, laser marking and engraving, wide-format printing, and plasma and corona treatment.
Fumex also expects the acquisition to improve its ability to serve customers across North America and Europe.
The companies’ engineering teams plan to collaborate on new filtration products for existing and new markets.
Filtrabox’s existing management team will remain in place following the transaction.
Fumex and Filtrabox plan to showcase their combined capabilities at FABTECH 2026 in Las Vegas from October 21 through October 23.
