Function Health announced that it has acquired Getlabs, a mobile healthcare platform that delivers diagnostic services directly to patients, marking a significant step in expanding access to at-home health testing.
The deal enables Function members to choose between visiting one of more than 2,000 Quest Diagnostics locations or scheduling a blood draw and other services at home or in the office through Getlabs. The core lab testing, results platform, and clinical guidance will remain consistent regardless of how services are delivered, with the primary difference being whether the patient or provider travels.
Getlabs’ nationwide network of providers and healthcare partners will continue operating, now supported by additional resources aimed at expanding reach and improving service delivery. The integration also introduces AI-assisted routing technology designed to streamline scheduling, improve punctuality, and increase overall access to testing.
Function said the acquisition aligns with its broader mission to remove barriers to healthcare access, particularly challenges related to travel, scheduling, and mobility. By combining physical healthcare delivery with software and AI infrastructure, the company aims to transform diagnostics into continuous health data that can support long-term health management.
Function offers a membership model priced at $365 per year, providing access to more than 160 lab tests, along with optional imaging services such as MRI and CT scans enhanced by FDA-cleared AI technology.
KEY QUOTES:
“Your zip code, your schedule, and your life circumstances shouldn’t determine what health information you have access to. Bringing testing directly to people isn’t just convenience – it’s access. Function is on a mission to enable 8 billion people to live 100 healthy years, and that is only possible when you scale the ability to make health data accessible to wherever people are.”
Jonathan Swerdlin, CEO and Co-Founder, Function
“At Getlabs, we believe access to testing is a fundamental piece to owning your health. Together with Function, we can make testing more accessible and seamless, reaching more of the phlebotomists, care teams, and providers who make that possible every day. That mission doesn’t change. It scales.”
Claire Hough, CEO, Getlabs
