G2 Consulting Group, a Troy, Michigan-based provider of geotechnical, environmental, and construction engineering services, has acquired Construction Testing Services, adding a long-standing local firm with more than 40 years of experience serving clients across Michigan’s Bay Area and Thumb region. Financial terms were not disclosed.
G2 said the transaction strengthens its in-state footprint by bringing CTS’s nine-person team into a platform that now employs about 140 people across offices in Troy, Ann Arbor, and the Chicago area. The buyer and seller share capabilities in geotechnical engineering and materials testing, while G2 also offers broader environmental engineering and construction services that it expects to extend to CTS customers.
Executives from both firms framed the deal as a succession-driven transaction designed to preserve CTS’ client relationships and operating approach while expanding resources for employees and customers. Integration and transition planning is underway, with G2 stating it intends to maintain the CTS office and staff and add expanded back-office support alongside additional engineering capabilities.
KEY QUOTES
“For decades, CTS has built its success on deep client relationships and a commitment to excellence. When we began considering succession planning, we wanted a partner who truly understood our services and who would build on our foundation—not change it. G2 turned out to be the perfect answer. This is a true win-win for our employees and clients alike.”
