Gaius Capital Closes Debut Private Equity Funds At €56 Million

Gaius Capital reached the final close of its debut private equity funds with €56 million in total capital raised.

The total includes €50 million for Gaius Nachfolgekapital I, which closed oversubscribed at its hard cap, along with an additional €6 million raised through a co-investment vehicle.

The final close came approximately four months after Gaius Capital completed a €40 million first close in June 2026.

More than 90% of commitments came from institutional investors across Germany, France, the Benelux region, the United States, and the United Kingdom.

Gaius Capital is an independent private equity firm focused on succession solutions in the DACH Mittelstand.

The firm targets scalable buy-and-build strategies across the micro- and small-cap segments and partners with business owners on succession transitions.

Gaius Capital said its approach is designed to preserve and extend the value created by entrepreneurs while providing a platform for continued growth.

Since its first close, the firm has continued deploying capital and building new succession platforms.

In September 2026, Gaius Capital launched Alpiora Group in Switzerland as its second succession platform.

That followed the firm’s first platform, which is focused on insurance brokers in Germany.

With the fundraising process completed, Gaius Capital plans to build additional succession platforms across resilient-growth service industries in the DACH region.

The firm is also continuing to expand its investment team as it develops additional private equity platforms.
