Gallatin: $15 Million (Seed) Funding Secured For Transforming Defense Logistics

By Amit Chowdhry • Apr 10, 2025

Gallatin AI, a defense technology company transforming military logistics through artificial intelligence, today emerged from stealth with $15 million in seed funding. Incubated within 8VC’s Build program, which has launched defense unicorns Epirus and Saronic, Gallatin utilizes years of dedicated research in defense and commercial logistics innovation. The funding round was led by 8VC, joined by Silent Ventures, Moonshots Capital, Timeless Partners, and Banter Capital.

Gallatin’s AI-based platform, Navigator, multiplies military logisticians’ capacity to predict, plan, and execute complex operations, especially in the stress and uncertainty of contested environments. And recent conflicts have shown critical vulnerabilities in traditional military supply chains, highlighting the need for rapid, intelligent decision-making.

Gallatin’s Navigator tackles these challenges by accelerating resupply workflows through real-time data integration, AI-generated courses of action, and simulation capabilities. It enables commanders to sustain operational advantage through predictive analytics and automated decision support.

Gallatin’s founding team includes Woody Glier, Daniel Buchmueller, and Brian Ballard. They combine deep expertise from leading technology and defense organizations, including Palantir, Scale AI, Amazon, the Department of Defense, and the U.S. intelligence community. And they also combine decades of extensive experience in data fusion, artificial intelligence, logistics optimization, and real-world military operations.

This funding will advance Gallatin’s technology development and team expansion, specifically in engineering and deployment-facing roles as the company scales the Navigator platform across military services.

KEY QUOTES:

“Gallatin was founded on the conviction that military logistics urgently needs to evolve beyond outdated tools to effectively respond to modern threats. Navigator enables logisticians to leverage software-driven practices already proven in global commercial sectors, such as real-time data integration, predictive analytics, and workflow automation, to dramatically improve the quality and speed of critical logistics decisions. Adopting these proven capabilities will ensure allied forces maintain logistical readiness and resilience in future high-intensity conflicts.”

  • Woody Glier, CEO of Gallatin

“For years, we’ve seen the growing gap between commercial logistics innovation and the capabilities of our military partners and industrial base. We partnered with Gallatin’s team to close that gap, bringing commercial-grade AI and automation to the Department of Defense’s most urgent logistics challenges. Their rare combination of operational insight and technical excellence made them an ideal fit for our Build program and a uniquely credible team to lead this transformation.”

  • Alex Moore, Partner and defense lead at 8VC

“Global logistics networks are in the midst of a critical transformation, and this shift is particularly vital within defense. Gallatin’s groundbreaking approach represents a step change in building resilient, responsive supply chains capable of operating from factory loading docks all the way to customers subject to contested conditions.”
