Leading global growth equity firm General Atlantic recently announced several managerial changes. The company announced the promotions of Lefei Sun to Managing Director, David Buckley to Operating Partner, and Roger Gao and Raph Osnoss to Principal. These promotions will be effective as of January 1, 2020.

Sun is based out of Hong Kong where he serves as Head of China Healthcare. And he played an essential role in establishing the firm’s Healthcare and Life Sciences franchises in China and helped lead the firm’s recent investments in Asia Medical and OcuMension. Prior to joining the firm in 2018, Sun was the Founding Partner of HuaTai Healthcare Investment Fund and previously held various investment roles at Hony Capital, Credit Suisse, OrbiMed, and Orchid Asia in addition to serving as a consultant at McKinsey & Company, all in the Healthcare sector. In terms of education, Sun attended the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine Graduate Ph.D. program in Neuroscience and holds a B.S. in Mathematics and Physics from Tsinghua University.
Buckley is based out of New York where he leads General Atlantic’s Insights Group — which integrates market research, data science, and revenue acceleration efforts across the firm’s global investment program in the investment lifecycle. Prior to joining General Atlantic in 2011, Buckley worked at McKinsey & Company where he served clients in the high tech, private equity, and industrial sectors. Plus he also previously served as a Captain in the United States Army. And he earned an M.P.P. from Princeton University’s Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs and a B.A. in Government and History from the University of Notre Dame.
Gao is based out of Hong Kong where he focuses on investments in the Technology and Financial Services sectors in China. And he was involved in the firm’s investments in 58.com, Ant Financial, ByteDance, Futu, Mafengwo, Meituan, and NetEase Cloud Music. Prior to joining the firm in 2012, Gao was an analyst in the Investment Banking Division at Goldman Sachs based in Hong Kong where he focused on the Consumer, Retail, and Healthcare sectors. Gao holds an M.S. from the London School of Economics and Political Science and a B.A. from Peking University, both in Finance.
Osnoss operates out of New York where he focuses on investments in the Financial Services sector. And he currently serves on the boards of directors of General Atlantic portfolio companies Alkami, Avant, and Invoice Cloud. Osnoss was also involved in the firm’s investments in Adyen, Ant Financial, Chime, and Insurity. Before joining General Atlantic in 2014, Osnoss served as an Associate at Berkshire Partners and as an Analyst in the Investment Banking Division of Goldman Sachs. And Osnoss earned an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School and a B.S. in Economics from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
