Genstar Capital has appointed veteran operations and supply chain executive John Kufner to its Strategic Advisory Board, reinforcing the private equity firm’s focus on value creation across its industrials portfolio.
The San Francisco-based firm said Kufner will advise on investments within its industrials vertical, with a particular emphasis on leading supply chain initiatives and driving operational excellence across portfolio companies.
Kufner brings more than two decades of experience overseeing global manufacturing, procurement, logistics, and supply chain operations. He previously served as chief operating officer of Platinum Equity-backed Cook and Boardman Group and of Blackstone-backed Noho Commerce, where he led operational transformation and efficiency initiatives. Earlier in his career, he was the managing director of procurement and supply chain at Bain Capital, spearheading value-creation and productivity initiatives across the portfolio companies.
Genstar’s Strategic Advisory Board comprises current and former C-level executives who provide operational and sector-specific expertise across the firm’s core investment areas. The board works closely with portfolio companies to support transformation efforts, accelerate value creation, and contribute operational insight during due diligence and investment evaluation.
Genstar has been investing in high-quality companies for more than 35 years and currently manages approximately $50 billion in assets. The firm focuses on targeted segments of the industrials, software, financial services, and healthcare industries.
