Genstar Capital, a private equity firm focused on targeted segments of the industrials, software, financial services, and healthcare industries, announced the appointment of John Kufner to its Strategic Advisory Board. Kufner will concentrate on the firm’s industrials investments, with a particular emphasis on leading supply chain initiatives and driving operational value creation across the portfolio.
Kufner brings more than two decades of experience overseeing global manufacturing, procurement, logistics, and supply chain operations. Most recently, he served as Chief Operating Officer of Platinum Equity-backed Cook and Boardman Group and, previously, as COO of Blackstone-backed Noho Commerce, where he led operational transformation efforts and implemented initiatives to improve efficiency and performance. Earlier in his career, he was the Managing Director of Procurement and Supply Chain at Bain Capital, where he spearheaded value-creation and productivity-enhancement programs for portfolio companies.
Genstar said its Strategic Advisory Board is comprised of current and former C-level executives with operational and sector-specific expertise across its core investment areas. The board works closely with portfolio companies to support transformation initiatives, accelerate value creation, and provide practical insight during due diligence and investment evaluation processes.
