Girls Who Invest (GWI) – a non-profit organization dedicated to transforming the investment management industry by attracting/advancing women and non-binary investors and leaders – announced a $2 million grant from the Apollo Opportunity Foundation (AOF). The AOF recognizes the organization’s achievements and impact on efforts to diversify the investment management industry.
Over the next two years, the annual $1 million commitment will continue empowering GWI’s momentum. AOF, which launched in 2022 with a $100 million commitment from Apollo Global Management, seeks to expand opportunities in communities worldwide by deploying capital and engaging Apollo employees to invest in career education, workforce development, and economic empowerment.
The new $2 million grant will support the growth of existing GWI core programs as well as new initiatives focused on the retention and advancement of women and non-binary investors who are working full time in the industry. And as part of AOF’s contribution to the GWI community, the Apollo Opportunity Foundation will join the GWI Leadership Circle, a group of leading investment firms and partners established in March 2023 who collectively pledged to invest in the long-term retention and advancement of women and non-binary individuals in investment management.
