Pulse 2.0 interviewed Global Business Consultants Senior Business Consultant, Operations & Financial Management, Erick Parker, to learn more.
Erick Parker’s Background

Could you tell me more about your background? Parker said:
My name is Erick Parker, and I am the Senior Business Consultant for Global Business Consultants. My background includes more than 35 years of experience in business management, banking, finance, operations, bookkeeping, payroll, access to capital, negotiation, process improvement, and business advisory services.
Over the years, I have worked with entrepreneurs, small business owners, nonprofits, and growing companies that needed stronger financial visibility, better systems, and more disciplined operations. My experience also includes business consulting, turnaround work, and process improvement. I hold several professional certifications and continuing education, including Six Sigma Black Belt, Lean Mastery, Certified ScrumMaster, Advanced Certified ScrumMaster, Certified Scrum Product Owner, Advanced Certified Scrum Product Owner, Business Data Analytics, and Certified Business Analysis Professional.
My work has always centered on helping business owners make better decisions with data-driven information.
Formation Of The Company
How did the idea for the company come together? Parker shared:
The idea for Global Business Consultants emerged from recognizing a recurring problem in the small business market. Many business owners are talented at what they do, but they are often forced to wear too many hats. They are managing customers, employees, vendors, cash flow, payroll, taxes, operations, and growth all at the same time.
That creates pressure, confusion, and missed opportunities.
The idea behind Global Business Consultants was to give business owners a trusted partner who could help them understand their numbers, improve their systems, manage their back office, and make smarter decisions. We wanted to provide more than basic bookkeeping. We wanted to provide practical business support that connects the financial picture to the day-to-day operation of the business.
My primary responsibility is to help clients gain clarity, reduce financial stress, improve processes, and position their business for sustainable growth.
Favorite Memory
What has been your favorite memory working for the company so far? Parker reflected:
My favorite memories usually come from watching a business owner move from uncertainty to confidence. There is nothing better than seeing a client who once felt overwhelmed by their books, cash flow, or operations begin to understand the business clearly and make decisions with confidence.
One moment that stands out is having the opportunity to work with business owners from their startup stage in October 2022 to reaching over $150 million in 2025. It has been a pleasure to work alongside these owners, from the early stages of bookkeeping and financial setup to supporting their expansion and compliance.
Experiences like that remind me why this work matters. We are not just processing numbers. We are helping business owners protect what they have built, make better decisions, and create more opportunities for the future.

Challenges Faced
Have you faced any challenges in your sector of work recently, and how did you overcome those challenges? Parker acknowledged:
Yes. One of the biggest challenges in our sector is that many businesses are still recovering from years of economic uncertainty, rising costs, labor challenges, interest rate pressures, and technological change. Many owners are trying to grow, but they do not always have timely financial information or strong internal systems.
We overcome those challenges by focusing on clarity, consistency, and process. We help clients clean up their books, improve reporting, track cash flow, review expenses, and create better systems around payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and monthly close procedures.
Another challenge is technology. Many business owners use software, but they do not always have the right processes in place to support it. Our approach is to combine technology with human judgment. Software can organize information, but business owners still need experienced guidance to interpret the numbers and make the right decisions.
Evolution Of The Company’s Technology
How has the company’s technology evolved since launching? Parker noted:
Our technology has evolved significantly. We continue to work with platforms such as QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Desktop, Xero, Zoho, FreshBooks, Buildium, payroll systems, point-of-sale systems, customer management tools, and reporting tools. Over time, we have become more focused on leveraging technology to increase visibility for clients.
We also use dashboards, workflow tools, financial reporting systems, and artificial intelligence support where appropriate. However, we believe technology should support decision-making, not replace judgment. The goal is not just to automate work. The goal is to give business owners more accurate information, faster reporting, and better insight into the health of their business.
Significant Milestones
What have been some of the company’s most significant milestones? Parker cited:
Some of our most significant milestones include building long-term client relationships, helping companies clean up years of financial records, supporting clients through growth periods, helping business owners access capital, and expanding our advisory services beyond traditional bookkeeping.
Another important milestone has been positioning Global Business Consultants as a firm that combines financial management, operational improvement, and business advisory services. That combination allows us to support the full picture of a business, not just one part of it.
We are also proud of the trust we have built with business owners who have worked with us for several years and continue to rely on us as part of their business support team.
Customer Success Stories
Can you share any specific customer success stories? Parker highlighted:
One example involved a business owner who needed better financial visibility and support with the banking side of the business. We helped review the financial position, organize the information, improve the reporting, and connect the owner with the right banking relationship. That support helped the business continue growing while preserving ownership and avoiding unnecessary financial pressure.
Another success story is when we helped a client move from delayed or inaccurate books to monthly financial clarity. Once the books were cleaned up and reporting was consistent, the owner could see where money was going, what expenses needed attention, where cash flow was tight, and what decisions needed to be made. That shift completely changed how the owner managed their business.
Funding/Revenue
Are you able to discuss funding and/or revenue metrics? Parker revealed:
We do not publicly disclose specific company revenue metrics. However, we can discuss the type of value we help clients create. Our work often helps clients improve cash flow visibility, reduce avoidable expenses, prepare for financing conversations, understand profitability, and make better operational decisions.
On the funding side, we support business owners by helping them prepare financial documents, understand lender expectations, organize financial statements, develop projections, and evaluate funding options. Our goal is to help clients approach funding from a position of preparation and credibility.
Total Addressable Market
What total addressable market size is the company pursuing? Parker assessed:
Global Business Consultants serves the small business, nonprofit, and growing company market. The total addressable market is significant because nearly every business needs accurate bookkeeping, payroll support, financial reporting, tax compliance, cash flow management, and advisory support.
Our focus is on business owners who have outgrown doing everything themselves but may not yet need or be able to afford a full internal accounting department, controller, or CFO. That creates a large opportunity for outsourced financial management and advisory services.
We are especially focused on companies that need more than transaction processing. These are businesses that want visibility, accountability, and guidance.
Differentiation From The Competition
What differentiates the company from its competition? Parker affirmed:
What differentiates Global Business Consultants is our combined experience in bookkeeping, payroll, financial management, business consulting, access to capital, negotiation, and process improvement.
Many firms only record transactions. Our goal is to help business owners understand what those transactions mean. We look at the numbers, the operation, the cash flow, the process, and the decisions behind the business.
We also bring a practical business background. My experience in business management, consulting, operations, and process improvement allows us to see the business from multiple angles. That gives clients a more complete advisory relationship.
We are responsive, relationship-focused, and committed to helping owners spend more time working on the business instead of being trapped inside the day-to-day details.
Future Company Goals
What are some of the company’s future goals? Parker emphasized:
Our future goals include expanding our advisory services, continuing to improve reporting and dashboard tools, helping more business owners access capital, and developing stronger systems that enable clients to make faster and better decisions.
We also want to continue educating business owners on the importance of financial visibility, clean books, cash flow planning, operational discipline, and the right external support. Many businesses do not fail because their owners lack talent. They struggle because their owners lack timely information, structure, and support.
Global Business Consultants wants to be the firm that helps close that gap.
Additional Thoughts
Any other topics you would like to discuss? Parker concluded:
One topic I would add is the importance of responsible technology and human judgment. Artificial intelligence and automation are changing the way businesses operate, but business owners still need experienced professionals who can ask the right questions, challenge assumptions, and interpret the information correctly.
At Global Business Consultants, we believe the future of business support is not just technology. It is technology combined with accountability, ethics, experience, and trusted relationships.
Our mission is to help business owners gain clarity, improve performance, and make decisions that protect and grow what they have worked so hard to build.
