Glow has appointed Patti Degnan as Chief Information Security Officer as the recently emerged-from-stealth cybersecurity company builds out its leadership team and strengthens its own security posture alongside its endpoint security platform.
Degnan brings nearly two decades of cybersecurity and privacy experience and most recently served as an Operating Partner at Andreessen Horowitz. She previously served as Chief Information Security Officer at Notion.
At Glow, Degnan will be responsible for building the company’s Security, IT, Compliance, Privacy, and Customer Trust organizations.
She will also work closely with Glow’s product and engineering teams as the company develops its technology for enterprise customers.
Glow said the appointment is particularly important because the company is building products designed to help security teams secure endpoints. The company believes its internal security standards should reflect the same expectations it sets for customers.
Degnan’s experience includes working with highly technical and AI-focused companies as security teams adapt to new risks associated with artificial intelligence.
At Andreessen Horowitz, she advised portfolio companies on security practices for AI-native products and helped build a network of CISOs and CIOs.
Before joining Andreessen Horowitz, Degnan founded the security organization at Notion and helped scale the function as the productivity software company grew beyond 100 million users.
Earlier in her career, she led teams at Looker through Google’s acquisition of the company.
Degnan has also held leadership roles at Informatica, Lending Club, and Symantec.
Beyond her operating roles, she has served on the advisory boards of Drata and Whistic and was previously a member of SVCI.
She also serves as an advisor to Crucyble, Venice and Oximy.
Glow sees Degnan’s experience as increasingly relevant as AI changes the cybersecurity threat landscape and forces companies to continuously adapt their defenses, privacy practices and trust infrastructure.
The company expects Degnan to expand her team over the coming months, with hiring planned across security, privacy and trust-related functions.
