I have had the privilege of building community and monetization products in various sectors such as the creator economy, search, wearables, and online games, for companies, including Intel, Disney, Playdom, Gaia Online, and Yahoo!”

How did the idea for Glystn come together? Fassett shared:

“When I looked over the last 2-3 years of the creator economy, the most striking realization was that the days of being a single platform creator were long gone. Creators now publish and monetize across multiple platforms, and their communities have become more like a diaspora. It’s actually pretty amazing because this diversity opens up new avenues for monetization and attracts a wider range of audiences. They can publish their content in different ways and reach more people. However, there’s a challenge lurking in the background—with a multitude of platforms comes an insurmountable slew of comments and engagement activities from followers that one creator can’t possibly keep up with, which risks eroding their ties to their community. The community is the critical engine of the creator that helps them grow and monetize. Without the ability to efficiently cultivate and engage this new fragmented community landscape, the creator economy will stagnate and wither.”

“We set out to create AI tools that would do the heavy lifting to help creators authentically engage with their growing communities across their platforms and truly understand what’s resonating so that they can properly scale.”

What has been your favorite memory working for Glystn so far? Fassett reflected:

“Developing and growing our team. The creator economy draws some of the most passionate and creative people I’ve been able to work with. Working with people who are dedicated to the mission of developing healthy, positive connections between fans and creators is energizing and makes the hard work of starting a company worth it.”

Challenges Faced

What are some of the challenges you face in building the company? Fassett acknowledged:

“Building a start-up is fraught with challenges on all levels. Whether it’s right-sizing the roadmap to limited resources or trying to figure out how to flywheel user growth, nothing is handed to you on a platter. But that’s also what makes it so exciting. And at the end of the day, it is rewarding. Facing real challenges and seeing the successes – and the failures – makes you who you are and shows you what you can become.”

What are Glystn’s core products and features? Fassett explained:

“The Glystn platform leverages AI to collect and distill information from different social media audiences in real-time for creators.”

 “For example, if a creator gets 50,000 messages all across their platforms, Glystn is able to pull out the most important topics and trends as well as the most engaged people who are leaving those messages.”

“This gives creators a consolidated view, across platforms, of what’s most important so that they can focus their time and attention. Then, if they want to reply, they can reply from Glystn, and their reply gets routed natively back into those platforms. From their audience’s perspective, they’re right there next to them.”

Evolution Of Glystn’s Technology

How has Glystn’s technology evolved since launching? Fassett noted:

“We only launched this month, but we’re excited to see major demand from prestige creators, which we’ll share soon!”

What have been some of Glystn’s most significant milestones? Fassett noted:

“Before we even launched Glystn to the public, we partnered with superstar creators like Louis Wiesz, AJ Rafael, and Steve Mould, which speaks to the need and value of Glystn’s AI-powered approach to community.”

Can you share an example of what Glystn insights look like from a creator’s perspective? Fassett replied:

“Sure! Here are some examples of the types of insights we were able to pull for creators, including Casey Neistat, Mr. Beast, Ryan Trahan, and Michelle Khare.”

Funding/Revenue

Upon asking Fassett about the company’s funding/revenue, he revealed:

“We just recently secured $4 million in our latest funding round from Eniac Ventures, Precursor Ventures, Hannah Grey VC, and Future Perfect Ventures.”

“With this funding, we’re supercharged and ready to take our platform to the next level. We’ll be focusing on developing and enhancing our features, expanding our team, and scaling our operations. It’s all about ensuring we can deliver an even better experience for our users.”

“While I can’t get into specific revenue metrics right now, I can tell you that we are helping uncover insights and scale engagement for the >100M+ combined audience of our Beta partners, including Louis Wiesz, and AJ Rafael.”

What differentiates Glystn from its competition? Fassett affirmed:

“While we acknowledge that there are other players in related areas, we have not encountered any direct competitors who provide the same comprehensive features and AI capabilities as we do.”

What are Fasset’s thoughts about AI? Fasset commented:

What are some of Glystn’s future company goals? Fassett concluded:

We recognize that as creators grow in size and reach, it becomes increasingly challenging for them to effectively engage and derive maximum value from their communities.”

“Our goal is to transform these fragmented creator communities into thriving, healthy engines. We want creators to consistently produce exceptional content that resonates with their audiences, leading to enthusiastic sharing, discussions, and engagement. By achieving this, we aim to help creators gain more independence from any single platform and improve their business prospects. This includes attracting the right sponsors, monetizing their work in ways that align with their goals, and enhancing their overall creative journey.”
