Gmail has turned 15-years-old today and Google G Suite director of product management Jacob Bank announced several new features. The new features include Smart Compose improvements and an option to schedule emails.

Google originally launched the Smart Compose feature in May 2018. This feature essentially makes suggestions as you write emails to help improve productivity. Google improved on this feature by matching to your writing style.

“Smart Compose can now adapt to the way you write. For example, if you prefer to greet your teams with a friendly, ‘Hey team,’ it can help you stay true to your voice. It can even suggest a subject line based on the body of the message you’ve written,” wrote Bank.

Smart Compose has reportedly saved people from typing over 1 billion characters every week on the web. This feature is now being rolled out to Android devices. And it is coming to iOS soon. Plus Smart Compose also now works in Spanish, French, Italian, and Portuguese.

Another feature that is being added to Gmail is the ability to schedule emails. So when you click on the arrow next to “Send” in the compose window, you will see a scheduling tool. There are presets you can pick like “tomorrow morning” and you will notice an option to schedule an exact time.

Previously, you would have to use a third-party extension such as Boomerang for scheduling emails. This new feature comes in handy if you want to remind someone to work on a task in the morning or schedule a reminder for yourself.
