GMS announced that it has acquired the assets of Central Materials, a distributor of stucco, EIFS, stone, masonry, and related cladding products.

Central Materials operates two locations serving South Texas’s Rio Grande Valley.

The acquisition expands GMS’s product offering in complementary building products and strengthens its presence in the South Texas market.

GMS said Central Materials’ vendor relationships in stucco, EIFS, and cladding products will help provide access to an expanded product portfolio across South Texas.

Central Materials will continue operating under its current name and branding.

Central Materials founding partners Cesar Guzman and Alejandro Barrera will continue managing the business for the foreseeable future.

The Central Materials team will operate in close collaboration with GMS’s Southwest Division leadership.

GMS is a subsidiary of SRS Distribution, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of The Home Depot.

Founded in 1971, GMS operates a network of more than 320 distribution centers across the United States and Canada. The company also operates nearly 100 tool sales, rental, and service centers.
