Go.AI Raises $85 Million Series A Led By Updata Partners, Bringing Total Funding To $90 Million

Go.AI, a Chicago-based provider of private artificial intelligence infrastructure for regulated industries, has raised $85 million in Series A funding led by Updata Partners, with participation from existing investors GFT Ventures and LAUNCH. The financing brings the company’s total funding to $90 million and will support the expansion of its engineering team, continued development of its software and hardware products, and broader commercialization of its on-premises AI platform.

The funding follows a period of substantial growth for Go.AI, which recently rebranded from Go Abacus. The company now serves more than 200 customers, has increased its annual recurring revenue by more than eightfold year over year, and remains profitable.

Its customers collectively process more than 12.5 million AI queries daily through on-premises deployments, primarily across financial services, healthcare, aerospace and defense, and manufacturing.

Go.AI was co-founded by CEO David Moscatelli and Lisa Gillespie to help organizations adopt AI without relinquishing control of sensitive information or introducing additional compliance risks.

The company’s platform addresses a challenge facing heavily regulated organizations: deploying advanced AI capabilities while maintaining strict requirements for data security, operational control, auditability, and regulatory oversight.

Many conventional enterprise AI services rely on external cloud infrastructure, creating concerns for organizations that manage sensitive financial, medical, government, or proprietary information.

For these organizations, transferring information to third-party AI providers can introduce complications involving data governance, privacy, contractual obligations, and regulatory compliance.

Go.AI addresses these challenges through AI infrastructure that operates entirely within a customer’s existing secure environment.

Its platform combines proprietary software and hardware to enable businesses to deploy AI applications while keeping their sensitive information inside their own infrastructure.

According to the company, its approach allows organizations to use AI without sending proprietary data to third-party providers.

The company’s technology is designed to operate within existing governance frameworks, making it particularly relevant to banks, credit unions, healthcare providers, defense organizations, and other businesses with substantial compliance obligations.

A central component of its product strategy is The Go1, which Go.AI introduced earlier in 2026 as an integrated on-premises AI hardware and software solution for regulated organizations.

The system is designed to provide the infrastructure necessary to run AI workloads directly within a customer’s environment, reducing dependence on externally hosted AI services.

Go.AI is also developing Go.OS, its proprietary AI software operating system, which forms part of its broader infrastructure platform.

Together, the company’s hardware and software offerings are intended to provide organizations with a controlled environment for deploying AI applications across their operations.

Another aspect of Go.AI’s business model is its fixed-fee pricing structure, which eliminates the variable per-token charges commonly associated with usage-based AI services.

This approach is intended to make AI infrastructure expenses more predictable for enterprises operating large-scale deployments.

The combination of private infrastructure, regulatory readiness, and predictable pricing has supported Go.AI’s expansion among customers seeking to move AI applications from experimentation into production.

The company’s latest financing will accelerate development of both Go.OS and its hardware product line, while supporting additional hiring across its engineering organization.

Go.AI also plans to expand its go-to-market activities beyond traditionally regulated industries to serve a broader range of organizations with significant security and compliance requirements.

The investment comes as the company grows its workforce, which now exceeds 50 employees, up from its two-person founding team.

Beyond technology development and commercial expansion, Go.AI intends to invest in customer training and advisory services to help organizations understand how to deploy AI securely within their existing technology environments.

These initiatives will include expanded educational and marketing programs, as well as an upcoming company podcast series examining practical applications of AI.

The company aims to demonstrate how organizations can implement AI alongside their employees while maintaining appropriate oversight and operational controls.

For Updata Partners, the investment provides an opportunity to support a profitable AI infrastructure business serving organizations that require greater control over their technology deployments.

The Washington, D.C.-based growth equity firm has more than $3 billion in committed capital and focuses on high-growth business-to-business software and software-driven companies.

Its investment team brings an average of more than 25 years of technology industry experience, combining growth capital with operational expertise.

The new financing will enable Go.AI to strengthen its technology infrastructure, expand its customer base, and pursue additional opportunities as enterprise demand for private AI deployments continues to develop.

KEY QUOTES:

“When Lisa Gillespie and I cofounded the company, we were two people with a big idea. Today we have over 50 team members, and the company we’ve built is doing exactly what we said it would do for the institutions that trust us most. This funding lets us keep building at that pace, but the thing I’m most proud of isn’t the growth number, it’s the education. AI doesn’t have to be something people fear or don’t understand. Done right, it works alongside the people who use it. That’s what this round lets us prove, at scale.”

David Moscatelli, Co-Founder and CEO of Go.AI

“Go.AI built the AI stack that regulated institutions can actually deploy: software and hardware that live inside the customer’s secure environment with no proprietary data going to a third party. All of this at a fixed fee with no per-token surprise costs. Go.AI’s combination of explosive growth and profitability is exactly what we look for at Updata. We are thrilled to partner with David, Lisa, and the entire Go.AI team.”
