Godspeed Capital Acquires GreenVest To Build Environmental Infrastructure Platform

Godspeed Capital Management has acquired GreenVest, a provider of ecological restoration, compensatory mitigation, stormwater management, nature-based resilience, and environmental consulting services.

GreenVest will become a foundational platform for Godspeed’s expansion in environmental infrastructure and restoration services. The private equity firm plans to invest in organic growth, talent, new capabilities, and acquisitions designed to expand GreenVest geographically and broaden its customer relationships and service portfolio.

As part of the transaction, GreenVest Senior Vice President Brett Berkley has been appointed Chief Executive Officer.

Headquartered in Bowie, Maryland, GreenVest works with public- and private-sector customers on environmental projects involving wetland and stream mitigation, Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System mitigation, stormwater management, permitting, regulatory compliance, and nature-based resilience.

The company has developed projects throughout environmentally sensitive watersheds across the Mid-Atlantic and Northeastern United States. Along with its Bowie headquarters, GreenVest operates offices in Baltimore, Maryland, and Tranquility, New Jersey.

Godspeed sees opportunities to grow the company as governments, infrastructure owners, developers, and other organizations invest more heavily in watershed restoration, resilience, regulatory compliance, and sustainable infrastructure.

The transaction represents Godspeed’s latest platform investment through Fund III, following the formation of JP Donovan Construction and GALT Aerospace. Godspeed typically invests in lower-middle-market companies operating across Defense & Government services, solutions, and technology and generally targets businesses with approximately $3 million to $30 million of EBITDA.

GreenVest founder Doug Lashley will continue supporting the company as it enters its next phase, while Berkley will lead the platform as CEO. Godspeed’s strategy includes pursuing additional acquisitions capable of extending GreenVest into new markets and complementary environmental service categories.
