Golden Pet Brands has completed the acquisition of the Petsource pet food production facility in Seward, Nebraska, which closed on May 8, 2026. The deal brings Golden Pet Brands to two U.S. manufacturing facilities and adds approximately 100 Petsource employees to the company’s workforce, with production operations continuing uninterrupted following the close.

The 170,000-square-foot Seward facility was built in 2019 and expanded in 2021 and 2022. It holds SQF Safe Quality Food certification and is registered with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. The site offers a broad assortment of pet food and treat production formats and will produce exclusively for Golden Pet Brands portfolio brands, including Dr. Marty Pets and Ultimate Pet Nutrition. The acquisition gives the Los Angeles-based company two owned-and-operated U.S. manufacturing facilities — its existing BRC AA+- rated facility in Wisconsin, which employs more than 400 people and was recently named a 2026 Top Workplace by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, and the newly acquired Nebraska site.

Golden Pet Brands entered the market in 2017 and operates a portfolio that also includes Badlands Ranch. The company said it was warmly received by Seward city officials and is committed to becoming an active part of the local community. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
