Goldman Sachs (GS): COVID-19 Federal Aid Commitment Increased By $250 Million

Goldman Sachs Group Inc (NYSE: GS) recently announced an additional $250 million has been committed to funding the federal aid program for helping companies that were negatively impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic according to Reuters. Including this new commitment, Goldman Sachs has now committed $775 million.

The United States government launched a program called the Paycheck Protection Program in April in order to provide millions to companies that were in need in order to stay afloat.

Goldman Sachs is not an approved small business loan provider in the United States so it is providing the financing to community development financial organizations and lenders — which then distribute it out to local clients.

And Goldman Sachs is also partnering with the National Urban League and the U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce
