Goldman Sachs has named seven partners to its Management Committee, expanding senior leadership across its Asset & Wealth Management (AWM) franchise as the firm continues to push growth in the division.
The appointments elevate leaders spanning private credit, public investing, external investing, and wealth management. Goldman said the moves reflect its focus on building a more global, scaled AWM platform, with particular emphasis on investing capabilities and wealth management leadership.
Among the additions are James Reynolds and Vivek Bantwal, who serve as global co-heads of Private Credit within Goldman Sachs Asset Management. Reynolds also serves as the chief executive officer of Goldman Sachs Asset Management International. The firm also named Michael Brandmeyer, global head and chief investment officer of the External Investing Group within Goldman Sachs Asset Management, and Gregory Calnon, global co-head of Public Investing within Goldman Sachs Asset Management, to the committee.
On the wealth side, Goldman said John Mallory and Nishi Somaiya will become global co-heads of Wealth Management, while Kristin Olson, global head of Alternatives for Wealth within AWM, also joins the Management Committee. Goldman framed the slate as experienced leaders with deep institutional knowledge and client-facing expertise across the AWM franchise.
The Management Committee is a key senior leadership body at Goldman Sachs, and the changes underscore how central AWM has become to the firm’s broader strategy, particularly as alternatives and private credit continue to play a larger role in institutional and wealth portfolios.
James Reynolds – Reynolds is the global co-head of Private Credit at Goldman Sachs Asset Management and the CEO of Goldman Sachs Asset Management International. Practically, that places him at the center of Goldman’s push in private credit investing (origination, underwriting, portfolio construction, and risk management) while also carrying senior leadership responsibilities for the international GSAM business.
Vivek Bantwal – Bantwal is the global co-head of Private Credit within Goldman Sachs Asset Management. His scope sits alongside Reynolds in building and running the private credit platform, which typically includes direct lending and other private credit strategies, investment decisioning, portfolio oversight, and client-facing growth across institutional and wealth channels.
Michael Brandmeyer – Brandmeyer is global head and chief investment officer of the External Investing Group within Goldman Sachs Asset Management. This group is generally responsible for selecting, allocating to, and overseeing investments managed by external firms and managers—covering areas like private markets, hedge fund-style strategies, and other third-party vehicles—so his role typically blends manager selection, portfolio construction, and governance across outside partnerships.
Gregory Calnon – Calnon is global co-head of Public Investing within Goldman Sachs Asset Management. Public Investing usually includes liquid strategies across equities, fixed income, and multi-asset approaches. His remit commonly centers on investment platform leadership, product strategy, and scaling distribution while maintaining performance and risk discipline in liquid markets.
John Mallory – Mallory will become global co-head of Wealth Management. That role typically oversees the advisory and solutions business for high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients, spanning investments, planning, and client coverage. The “will become” language suggests a transition into the co-head seat as part of this leadership refresh.
Nishi Somaiya – Somaiya will become global co-head of Wealth Management alongside Mallory. In most firms, having co-heads reflects the breadth of the wealth platform—client coverage, lending and banking integration, investment solutions, and operational scale—so her elevation signals added emphasis on leading a large, global wealth franchise with multiple product and client segments.
Kristin Olson – Olson is global head of Alternatives for Wealth within AWM. That function typically focuses on bringing private markets and alternative strategies—such as private equity, private credit, real estate, infrastructure, and hedge-fund-like exposures—to wealth clients in structures that fit wealth portfolios, with attention to access, education, portfolio fit, and risk/liquidity considerations.
Tony Fratto – Fratto is listed as the media contact for the announcement. In practice, that usually means he sits in a senior corporate communications role coordinating firm messaging and press engagement around leadership and strategic updates.
KEY QUOTE:
“Each of these leaders brings considerable experience, a deep knowledge of the firm, and extensive expertise serving our clients across our Asset & Wealth Management franchise to their expanded leadership roles. The opportunity to continue to grow our franchise across AWM is a core strategic objective for the firm, and this group of leaders will help us advance our goals as we continue to build a global, scaled AWM platform.”
David Solomon, Chairman and CEO, Goldman Sachs
