Golpo, an emerging AI-powered platform that transforms documents and prompts into interactive explainer videos, has secured $4.1 million in an oversubscribed seed round. BNVT Capital (a venture firm spun out of the Gates Foundation and Hedosophia) led the funding, with participation from Emergence Capital, Y Combinator, Afore Capital, and several other investors. The round drew such strong investor demand that the founders ultimately turned away additional capital.
The company was founded by brothers Shraman Kar (19) and Shreyas Kar (20), who left their computer science studies at Stanford to pursue their mission of making AI-driven video communication scalable and accessible. Their decision to drop out was driven by what they describe as a critical gap in the current AI video landscape—one that existing models fail to address.
According to the founders, current-generation AI video tools such as Sora and VEO 3 focus heavily on cinematic or short-form creative clips but fall short in supporting real-world communication needs. These models, while capable of producing impressive visuals, struggle with technical accuracy, spelling, and structured workflows—limitations that make them impractical for education, training, or enterprise use.
Golpo aims to bridge that gap by building an AI video platform optimized for long-form, coherent, and interactive explainer content. Its system can produce up to 30 minutes of video with frame-by-frame control, enabling users to edit, refine, and adjust individual scenes without regenerating the entire clip. This approach marks a fundamental shift from one-shot video generation toward a more controlled, repeatable workflow.
The platform is also reported to be 45 times cheaper than existing AI video models like VEO and is designed to ensure technical precision in elements such as diagrams, text, and process explanations. Its applications span multiple industries and use cases, including education, corporate training, sales and marketing, and internal communications.
Since launch, Golpo has seen rapid adoption across schools, companies, and organizations eager to streamline complex content into dynamic visual formats. School districts have begun converting lessons into interactive videos, while corporations use the platform for onboarding and training. Sales and marketing teams are repurposing pitch decks into video explainers, and internal communication departments are turning static memos into engaging, visual updates.
The funding will support Golpo’s continued growth, with plans to expand the team, further advance its AI capabilities, and deepen integrations with enterprise clients.
Golpo was founded in 2025 with the stated mission of unlocking the world’s knowledge by making AI video creation practical, sustainable, and widely accessible.
KEY QUOTES:
“One year ago, I was sitting in my final high school class, thrilled to be heading to Stanford. If you told me then that I’d drop out a year later to build a company with my brother, I’d have laughed. But some problems are too important to ignore.”
Shraman Kar, Co-Founder of Golpo
“Veo and Sora can generate cinematic spectacle, but they cannot even spell words correctly, let alone support technical or instructional content. Golpo is designed from the ground up for clarity, not just wow.”
Shreyas Kar, Co-Founder of Golpo
“What once took months can now be done in seconds, and Golpo got there faster than any other AI startup working on the same problem. This new video technology has the potential to open access to the world’s knowledge on a scale never seen before.”
Chris Corbishley, Managing Partner at BNVT Capital
