GomSpace Secures $2.4 Million U.S. Defense Satellite Order

GomSpace North America has received a $2.4 million order from an undisclosed U.S. defense customer for rapid-deployment satellite systems, expanding the company’s role in government and defense space missions.

The order covers GomSpace satellite platform kits that will form part of an end-to-end solution supporting a U.S. government mission.

The customer was not identified, and additional details regarding the specific mission, payloads or deployment timeline were not disclosed.

GomSpace’s platform kits are pre-engineered modular satellite bus systems designed to shorten mission timelines and simplify procurement for customers that need to move quickly from mission concept toward launch.

The systems are available in configurations ranging from 6U to 16U CubeSats as well as microsatellite-class platforms.

Customers can integrate mission-specific payloads onto the standardized satellite buses rather than developing an entirely new spacecraft platform from the ground up.
