Google Announces AI Futures Fund

Today, Google announced the AI Futures Fund. This new program will invest in and collaborate with startups that want to bring their innovative ideas to market using Google DeepMind’s latest AI models. With this fund, Google will work closely with companies in various stages of growth while also providing access to Google’s advanced resources, expertise, and early iterations of the company’s latest AI models like Gemini.

The startups working with the AI Futures Fund will gain access to the following:

1.) Early access to select AI models via Google DeepMind—This includes some of the most advanced AI models, such as Gemini, Veo, and Imagen, which will provide new AI-based features for their users.

2.) Partner with Google experts—Startups gain hands-on support from researchers, engineers, product managers, designers, and go-to-market specialists from Google DeepMind and Google Labs.

3.) Google Cloud credits and support—This program provides Cloud credits and dedicated technical support from Google Cloud experts to help build, train, and scale AI-based products.

4.) Equity investment – Select startups will get the opportunity to seek direct investment from Google to fuel growth and scale development.

Over the past several months, the AI Futures Fund has been collaborating with a select group of startups across various industries:

1.) Toonsutra – This Indian digital comic and webtoon app is using Gemini’s translation capabilities to make digital comics accessible across India’s diverse linguistic landscape (Details)

2.) Viggle – This AI meme-making platform is collaborating with Google to explore new forms of video creation powered by Gemini, Imagen, and Veo (Details)

3.) Rooms – This is a platform where users create, play and share interactive 3D spaces is working with google to prototype richer content experiences with Gemin (Details)
