  • Google announced that Google Assistant is now able to interpret 44 languages through Interpreter Mode

Every day, Google’s translation tools are used for interpreting 100 billion words. And there is a new feature for Google Assistant called Interpreter Mode, which is able to translate your conversations in real-time. Google unveiled this feature at CES in 2019.

So you can tell your Google Home device “Hey Google, be my German translator” or “Hey Google, help me speak Spanish.” This feature is also rolling out to Android devices and iPhones with Assistant enabled. And now Interpreter Mode supports 44 languages.

“After each translation, the Assistant may present Smart Replies, giving you suggestions that let you quickly respond without speaking—which can make your conversations faster and even more seamless,” said Google Assistant Senior Director of Product Management Lilian Rincon in a blog post. “Interpreter mode helps you translate across 44 languages, and since it’s integrated with the Assistant, it’s already on your Android phone. To access it on iOS, simply download the latest Google Assistant app. Interpreter mode also features different ways to communicate suited to your situation: you can type using a keyboard for quiet environments, or manually select what language to speak.”

The Interpreter Mode feature has also been added to Google Translate. And Interpreter Mode also features different ways to communicate suited to your situation where you are using a keyboard for quiet environments or manually select what language to speak.
