Google is expanding Gemini Notebook Short Video Overviews to more than 70 additional languages, along with three new English variants for Australia, the United Kingdom and India.
Short Video Overviews allow users to turn uploaded documents, notes and links into concise videos of approximately 60 seconds that summarize key concepts. The videos are designed to make source material easier to understand and share in a short-form, visual format.
The expansion significantly broadens the accessibility of the feature for users who want to generate summaries in their preferred language rather than relying primarily on English.
Google said the new language support is rolling out across web and mobile over the coming week. The company’s Gemini Notebook social account also said the feature is rolling out for Ultra and Pro users.
Short Video Overviews combine concise storytelling with educational animations and can be generated from materials users have added to Gemini Notebook.
The feature is also designed to be interactive from a language perspective, allowing users to transform the same underlying sources into short videos suited to different audiences and regions.
The expanded language lineup includes 76 listed languages and regional language variants: Afrikaans, Amharic, Arabic, Arabic (Egypt), Arabic (Modern Standard), Azerbaijani, Belarusian, Bulgarian, Bengali, Catalan, Czech, Danish, German, Greek, Spanish, Spanish (Latin America), Spanish (Mexico), Estonian, Basque, Persian, Finnish, Filipino, French, French (Canada), Galician, Gujarati, Hindi, Croatian, Hungarian, Armenian, Indonesian, Icelandic, Italian, Hebrew, Japanese, Javanese, Georgian, Kannada, Korean and Latin.
Additional supported languages include Luxembourgish, Lao, Lithuanian, Latvian, Malagasy, Macedonian, Malayalam, Mongolian, Marathi, Malay, Norwegian, Nepali, Dutch, Norwegian (Nynorsk), Oriya (Odia), Punjabi, Polish, Portuguese (Brazil), Portuguese (Portugal), Romanian, Russian, Sinhala, Slovak, Slovenian, Albanian, Serbian, Swedish, Swahili, Tamil, Telugu, Turkish, Ukrainian, Urdu, Vietnamese, Chinese (CN) and Chinese (TW).
Google is also adding three English accents or regional variants: English (Australia), English (UK) and English (India).
The broader rollout expands the potential use cases for Short Video Overviews across education, research and professional work, particularly for users who consume or share information across multiple languages.
By turning source materials into short vertical videos, Gemini Notebook is also bringing a format commonly associated with social media into research and learning workflows.
