Google announced several updates to Google Finance, including new portfolio tracking features, custom market briefings, and a dedicated Android app.

The new Google Finance is coming out of beta starting this week. Google said the updates are designed to help users track investment portfolios, follow market intelligence, and better understand financial investments.

One of the biggest additions is the global rollout of portfolios in the new Google Finance. The feature consolidates investments into a single dashboard showing performance data, asset allocation insights, and other information tailored to a user’s holdings.

Existing Google Finance portfolios will be available automatically. Users can also create a new portfolio by uploading files such as CSVs or PDFs, adding screenshots that show their holdings, or describing their investments.

After a portfolio is set up, users can ask questions through Google Finance’s research tool, including questions about sector exposure, asset allocation, or how fixed-income holdings may affect long-term growth potential.

Google also introduced a new market intelligence feature that lets users create scheduled updates. Users can describe a task, such as requesting a daily pre-market briefing on major cryptocurrency moves, and Google Finance will generate updates on the preferred schedule.

The scheduled updates can also use a user’s watchlist or portfolio to provide personalized insights. When a briefing is ready, users will receive a notification through the Google app on Android or iOS. Notifications will also appear in the research panel on Google Finance for the web.

Google said the market intelligence feature is now available globally.

The company also launched a new Google Finance app for Android. The app includes access to watchlists, real-time market data, a live financial news feed, the AI research tool, and AI-powered “key moments” that explain why a stock moved.

Google said more features from the web version will be added to the mobile app over the coming months, including live earnings calls, portfolio features, and scheduled market intelligence tasks.

Google also plans to launch a Google Finance app for iOS later this year.
