Google is ushering in a new era for Android as it evolves from an operating system into what the company calls an intelligence system. With the introduction of Gemini Intelligence, Android devices are becoming more proactive, more context‑aware and more capable of handling everyday tasks automatically while keeping users in control of their data.
Gemini Intelligence will begin rolling out this summer on the latest Samsung Galaxy and Google Pixel phones, with broader availability across watches, cars, glasses and laptops later this year. Google says the goal is to blend premium hardware with deeply integrated AI features that anticipate user needs and streamline daily workflows.
A major focus of Gemini Intelligence is automating multi‑step tasks across apps. After months of fine‑tuning on the Galaxy S26 and Pixel 10, Gemini can now handle complex interactions on popular food and rideshare apps. Soon, it will go even further — navigating tasks like booking a spin class, locating a syllabus in Gmail or building a shopping cart from a grocery list captured on screen. By combining app automation with visual context, Gemini can turn screenshots, photos or on‑screen text into instant actions.
Gemini Intelligence also enhances browsing with a smarter assistant in Chrome. Starting in late June, Android devices will gain the ability to research, summarize and compare content across the web, while Chrome auto browse can take care of routine tasks like booking appointments or reserving parking.
Autofill with Google is becoming more intelligent as well. By connecting to Gemini’s Personal Intelligence — strictly on an opt‑in basis — Android can now fill out even more complex forms using relevant information from connected apps. Users can toggle this connection on or off at any time.
To improve communication, Google is introducing Rambler, a new Gemini‑powered feature in Gboard designed to turn natural, imperfect speech into polished text. Rambler captures the important parts of what users say, removes filler words and organizes thoughts into clear messages. It also supports seamless multilingual input, allowing users to blend languages in a single message without losing nuance.
Gemini Intelligence is also bringing generative UI to Android through Create My Widget. Users can build custom widgets simply by describing what they want — from weekly meal prep suggestions to hyper‑specific weather dashboards. These widgets work across phones and Wear OS devices, ensuring personalized information is always accessible.
All of this is wrapped in an updated design language built on Material 3 Expressive. The new visual system is crafted to reduce distractions, animate with purpose and help users stay focused on what matters.
From automating digital busywork to generating personalized interfaces, Gemini Intelligence represents a major shift in how Android devices assist their users. Google says this is just the beginning of a more proactive, intelligent Android experience.
