Google’s director of product management of Pixel Goods Paul Osborne has announced a couple of new hardware devices, including Pixel Stand And Pixel USB-C Earbuds.
Pixel Stand
The Pixel Stand brings Qi-compatible wireless charging to the Pixel 3 and 3 XL. The Pixel Stand tilts the angle of the screen so you can see the information you need as the device is charging. With the Pixel Stand, it makes it easier to see notifications, listen to music, and access the web as your Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL is charging.
Some of the features of the Pixel Stand include an enhanced music experience so you can see your favorite artists’ album covers on display while listening to music. While docked, the device can be turned into a digital photo frame showcasing photos from your Google Photos account. And while you are listening to music, it will show the album covers of the artist.
Google also pointed out that by using the Pixel Stand, it gives you quick access to your Google Assistant so you can get a rundown of your day by saying “Hey Google, good morning.” If you have a Nest Hello video doorbell, then you can get a live feed on your Pixel screen when docked. And there is a gentle wake-up with the Pixel Stand’s Sunrise Alarm, which mimics a sunrise on the screen over the course of 15 minutes so that your room is brightened.
Pixel USB-C Earbuds
This year, Google has introduced a new pair of wired Pixel USB-C Earbuds in the box of the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL. This is the first set of USB-C headphones to include access to Google Assistant.
Along with rich audio quality, the Pixel USB-C Earbuds also uses Google Assistant to read notifications, provide in-ear directions, and read out real-time translation via Google Translate. It also comes with a USB-C to 3.5mm adapter so that you can use 3.5mm compatible headphones with your Pixel 3.
Price
The retail price of the Pixel Stand is $79 with free shipping included. And the Google Pixel USB-C Earbuds are priced at $30 if you want to buy another pair separately.
